Teen Robs Ormewood Park Woman at Gunpoint

Gunman took victim's Mazda 3 and purse.

ORMEWOOD PARK — A woman was robbed outside her Gilbert Street home Monday morning, Atlanta police said.

The victim told investigators she was leaving her home in the 900 block of Gilbert Street at about 8:45 a.m. when a teen armed with a gray or silver handgun approached her, pointed it at her and demanded her purse and car keys.

After she complied, he got in her black, 2007 Mazda 3, backed out into the street and speed off and drove south on Gilbert.

An Atlanta police department spokesman told East Atlanta Patch that it does not appear this incident is related to last week's armed holdup of someone on Vickers Street in Woodland Hills as that gunman was described as being in his 20s.

The Mazda sedan has license plate No. BJU6804. Anyone with information is urged to call APD Zone 6 Investigations at 404.373.5331.
