Atlanta police arrested a man following the Christmas Eve shooting death of another man in a botched robbery attempt.
Officials charged Roderick Banks, 22, with armed robbery and felony murder.
The victim was accosted in the 20 block of Jackson Street in the Sweet Auburn disctrict sometime after 10 p.m.
Police said that Banks and the deceased man tried to rob the would-be victim, who pulled out his gun and shot one of his attackers.
Banks, whose prior arrests include child battery, robbery and cruelty to children, then drove the wounded attacker to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was arrested and charged in the shooting death.
Police have not released the name of the deceased man, because his family had not yet been notified.
