Suspected Gunman Turns Self in for Auburn Avenue Shooting Death

Antonio M. Wilson charged with murder.

Atlanta police said Wednesday a 21-year-old wanted for murder in connection to a July 23 shooting Downtown, turned himself into authorities on Monday.

Antonio M. Wilson is charged with the murder of Joshua Alexis. He also faces aggravated assault with a weapon, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and making terroristic threats.

Police said the incident at 196 Auburn Ave. NE stemmed from a long-simmering dispute between Wilson, Alexis and a third person, Simuel Stevenson.

Wilson, police said, ran into Alexis and Stevenson on Auburn Avenue and fired at both.

Alexis died at Grady Memorial Hospital; Stevenson, who was shot in the buttocks, received non-life threatening injuries.
