Suspect in Lakewood Heights Homicide Turns Self in to Police

Atlanta police say a suspect wanted for the Dec. 22, 2013 murder of a man in Lakewood Heights, turned himself in to authorities at the Fulton County Jail Wednesday.

Carlos Bacon, 34, is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is accused of shooting 46-year-old Kendrick Lewis inside a home in the 400 block of Lindsey Drive SE.

The motive, police said, appeared to be an argument that escalated into the shooting.

Bacon's previous arrests, which date back to 1996, include possession of cocaine and marijuana, as well as selling those drugs, and speeding, driving on a revoked license and driving without proof of insurance.
