Starlight Six Drive-In Shooting: Where The Case Stands

Suspect remains in jail.

The DeKalb County Police Department continues to investigate the murder case involving Quentric S. Williams, the man accused of killing Mitt-Chai Lenix, a patron at the Starlight Six Drive-in Theatre last week.

Williams, 32, has already spent time in state prison on drug possession charges including for:

  • Cocaine possession arrest in Gwinnett County on March 1, 2000
  • Marijuana possession arrest in Gwinnett County on April 6, 1999
  • Cocaine possession arrest in Gwinnett County on April 6, 1999

Williams was sentenced to prison twice and served terms from Aug. 19, 2009 through March 23,2011. Another sentence ran from July 13, 2000 to July 13, 2004.

His most recent stay was in Dooly State Prison, a medium security facility in Unadilla, Ga.

We asked DeKalb County Police Department officials where the case stands now:

Q. We have a copy of Williams' charge report and it says he paid bail? Has he been released?

A. Williams is still in jail without bond on the Murder charge.  There have been bonds set only for additional misdemeanor charges.

Q. Is the DCPD closer to releasing details of the argument that led to the shooting?

A. Not at this time since it is still under investigation.

Q. was struck and killed near the Stone Mountain area by a DeKalb police officer who was on his way to aid in the chase and search for Williams. Since you could argue that that would not have happened if the Lenix shooting had not taken place, can Williams be charged with that death, too?

A. Georgia does have a statute for felony murder to cover deaths that occur during the commission of a felony. The district attorney will make the decision as to whether the statute applies in this incident.

Williams was sentenced to prison twice and served terms from Aug. 19, 2009 through March 23,2011. Was he on probation?

While Lenix had some unique skills & titles, hardly think he is the innocent champ he's being portrayed as! Bet he had a hidden, sinister side & this is all drug/robbery/threat related. Hope an autopsy was performed...bet his toxology report would be eye opening!!!!

It's called a toxicology report. I'll bet a dictionary would be eye opening for your spelling!!!

What a ridiculous conclusion to jump to. There are multiple witnesses who saw the incident occur. Mitt's car needed a jump and he asked the shooter for help. He is an innocent victim in all of this. I've known Mitt since he was 5 years old. There was no hidden sinister side. This was not a drug/robbery or threat related incident. Get your facts straight before you slander the victim's good name!

How DARE you imply that Mitt Lenix was in any way inclined to rob, threaten, or buy drugs from Williams- you know NOTHING about him, and yet you flat out state that he was sinister. Maybe if you had seen all the CHILDREN at his funeral who loved him and would stand for him, you'd keep your incorrect opinion to yourself.

bless Mit. He was a great guy. I ask God to help his parents, be with them in their grief. I know Mit is alive in the other world and his spirit is at peace. Mit, will truly be missed at Circus camp...we loved him so.

I cannot illustrate a picture of the pure anger I have towards you for saying such an ignorant thing about a person you OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW. take your IGNORANT self, and get life. I'll bet that even on your best day, you could NEVER come close to such a humble, genuine, loving person as Mitt was, even on his worst day. Most people could only dream of being as free-spirited as he was.
