Security Patrol Set Up in East Atlanta Village

The newly formed patrol comes after Patrick Cotrona was killed during a robbery as he walked down May Avenue last month.

EAST ATLANTA — A security patrol has been established in East Atlanta Village following the death of Patrick Cotrona last week.

Kevin Spigener, president of East Atlanta Community Association, told CBS Atlanta: "I think it's important to have it in the village because, one, it makes our residents and our visitors alike know that East Atlanta Village cares."

Cotrona was killed during a robbery late last month on May Avenue. There have been no arrests in his death.

CBS Atlanta reports that the newly formed group, which is starting to get donations from businesses, is operating in addition to the East Atlanta Security Patrol.
