Robbery Warning In Old Fourth Ward

Atlanta police investigating two separate incidents

by Maj. Christopher Leighty

We had two robberies that occurred Nov. 29. The first occurred at 8:30 p.m. at 660 Ralph McGill Blvd. The victims were unloading bags out of their vehicle and three black men robbed them at gunpoint and left in a gold-colored Toyota Camry.

The second robbery occurred at 180 Jackson St. around 9:10 p.m. The victims were sitting in a vehicle and the perpetrators yanked the driver's side door open and snatched a laptop from the driver. They then demanded money from both the driver and passenger of the vehicle. There were three perpetrators involved in this incident as well.

The investigation continues.

Maj. Leighty is commander of Atlanta Police Department Zone 5, which includes the Old Fourth Ward and Midtown neighborhoods.
