Police Arrest Suspect in Inman Park Street Robbery

INMAN PARK — Atlanta police arrested a 40-year-old man in the early morning hours of Aug. 24, following a robbery of two women.

The victims, two women, were on North Highland Avenue near Freedom Parkway at about 3 a.m. when the alleged robber, whom police identified as Alfonzo Phillips, accosted them.

He fled on foot, but not before he assaulted one of the women and left her with minor injuries.

Though he fled the scene, Phillips, 40, didn't get very far.

Police found him, a foot chase ensued and they caught Phillips, whom they had to pepper spray when he resisted arrest.

Phillips is charged with obstruction of police, simple battery and robbery.
