Police Arrest Accused Lake Claire Car Burglar

Victim saw suspect sitting in his car

Atlanta Police arrested a suspected burglar in Lake Claire Wednesday morning, after an Adolphus Avenue homeowner found him sitting in one of his cars.

Michael Williamson, 46, was charged with entering an auto and also faces additional charges related to a mobile phone police found in his possession that belonged to someone else, Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee said.

The owner of the car, who lives in the the 1700 block of Adolphus Avenue, told police he saw Williamson sitting in his car, which was parked in the carport around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim said Williamson allegedly rifled through his wife's vehicle as well.

The victim told police Williamson ran after being confronted, but officers found him about 10 minutes later.

In addition to the mobile phone, Williamson had a set of keys to an Audi on him when arrested.
