UPDATE: Dekalb authorities have said that they are still looking for a white SUV that witnesses saw firing at the black Maybach. According to the AJC, the DeKalb County Medical Examiner has not identified the victims body yet. On Twitter there are many people saying that the person killed in the shooting was rapper OG Double D from a rapping crew called Freebandz, that includes well-known hip-hop artist, Future. A search on Twitter reveals a number of RIP messages to the rapper.
The man that was shot while driving on I-20W near Glenwood Avenue on Thursday evening, has died from his gunshot wounds.
DeKalb Police responded to a shooting on I-20 westbound in which a man driving a car worth upwards of $400,000 was shot multiple times. DeKalb Police Department spokeswoman Mekka Parish told WSB that, “possibly shots were fired from a white SUV into the black car."
The AJC first reported that the shooting victim was in critical condition, but it was later confirmed that he died at the hospital. According to 11Alive the police arrived to the scene to find, "a man with multiple gunshots to his chest and face."
DeKalb Police have said that they are still trying to identify the victim and are looking into his background for leads in the case. According to Fox 5, "the Maybach car is one of the most expensive vehicles sold, with a price tag between $400,000 and $1 million."
Photos from the scene show the Maybach sitting on the right shoulder of the highway with at least four bullet holes to the driver's side window.
