Grant Park Residents Recover from Another Weekend Burglary

Grant Park Security Patrol alerted residents to stay vigilant.

GRANT PARK — Last night (Saturday, 2/2) at about 9PM there was a burglary at a residence in the 300 block of Woodward Avenue. The entry was once again a back door. In this incident a steel splitting wedge was used to smash the glass panel of the back door. A motion sensor spotlight was unscrewed.

The home did not have a alarm but the next door neighbor thought she saw the homeowner in his kitchen. The houses are close together and the blinds in his kitchen were not drawn. There was not a light on in the kitchen so she did not get a good ID of the suspect.

The suspect would be about 5'10 to 6' and medium build.

A digital camera and laptop were taken. Only a partial print could be lifted from another item in the home. The next door neighbor on the other side came home at 9 and perhaps that scared off the burglar. There were other small valuables laying around but were not taken.
