Man Shot and Killed in Old Fourth Ward

From Atlanta Police Department:

OLD FOURTH WARD — On Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Zone 6 units responded to a shooting call at 424 Wabash Ave.

Upon arrival, the officer located the victim lying in a city park (Parkway/Wabash Park). The male had at least one gunshot wound to the body and was transported to Atlanta Medical Center by Grady EMS.

The male died as a result of his injuries at Atlanta Medical Center.

Homicide Units, The GI Squad, and Atlanta Crime Scene Units responded to the location to investigate.

The scene was processed at the direction of Detective Foore who will lead the investigation for the Homicide Unit.

Unit 24 (Captain Guerrucci) was also present on scene. No suspect information is available at this time.
