Tuesday Candlelight Vigil For Murdered Peoplestown Man

Police say there are currently no leads in the murder of Kelsey Thornton, who was shot and killed Sunday night outside his Greenfield Street home.

Atlanta police are investigating the Sunday night shooting death of a beloved Peoplestown man.

According to Officer John Chafee, police were dispatched to the intersection of Ormond and Greenfield streets shortly before 9 p.m. There they found an unresponsive man lying in the street with a small amount of blood around his mouth.

Kelsey Thornton, 37, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police found him just outside the Greenfield St. home he lived in.

At this time, police say there are no leads in the murder.

The family and neighbors of Kelcey "Skeet" Thornton will hold a candlelight vigil in his memory on Tuesday night.

The vigil will be held at 8 p.m. at the site of the shooting at the corner of Greenfield and Ormond streets.
