Man Fatally Shot Answering O4W Apartment Door

Victim was reportedly visiting a friend at the Boulevard apartment complex when he was killed.

OLD FOURTH WARD Atlanta police are investigating a late Sunday evening shooting that left one man dead at the Auburn Glenn Apartments in the Old Fourth Ward.

According to police spokesman Greg Lyon, officers responded to a call at approximately 11:30 p.m. at the apartments located at 49 Boulevard just south of Edgewood Avenue. There they found a black male lying at the threshold of an apartment and efforts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful.

The victim, who was in his 30s, was reportedly a friend of a man who lived at the complex. WSB reported that when answering a knock at the door, the victim was met by an armed suspect who fired several shots at the him.

The victim’s identity has not been released as authorities seek to notify relatives. No description of the suspect has been provided by the police, and the investigation is ongoing.
