Man Alleges Carjacking at Memorial Drive BP

One of six reported incidents across Southeast Atlanta.

CAPITOL GATEWAY — A  man told police he was carjacked Saturday at the BP gas station on Memorial Drive — one of six reported incidents in a Saturday night crime wave across Southeast Atlanta.

The victim said he was approached at the filling station at 245 Memorial Drive SE, when he was approached by a man asking for money.

The man then pulled out a silver handgun.

The gunman, according to the victim took his car keys, told him to get on the ground and left in his vehicle.

The gunman is described as black and was last seen wearing a green jacket and black cap.

When 911 first received the call, the vehicle was last seen driving down Edgewood Avenue, according to the police report. But the victim later said it went down Hill Street and later still Memorial Drive.
