Honda Accord Stolen From Lake Claire Neighborhood

People love their Hondas.

So do thieves.

Someone stole a black 1997 Honda Civic wagon overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning from a Delaware Avenue NE home in Lake Claire.

There were no valuables left in view other than the stereo faceplate, the victims told East Atlanta Patch,  but an iPod was in the glove compartment.

They also reported no broken glass around the spot where they parked their car, but the victims found  several, small plastic/rubber pieces of the car trim on the ground.

The theft comes nearly a week after two other Hondas in Lake Claire were vandalized. In those cases, both Hondas — a white 1991 Accord and green 1997 Civic — were on nearby Leonardo Avenue.

The white Accord was broken into but nothing was taken. In the green Civic, the thieves took jumper cables and a tire inflation pump.

Honda owners beware: Accords and Civics were the most stolen vehicles in 2009, according the National Insurance Crime Bureau's 2010 "Hot Wheels" report.
