UPDATED: Two Men Rob Lakewood Heights Post Office

LAKEWOOD HEIGHTS — The U.S. Post Office at 1590 Jonesboro Road SE was robbed on Aug. 1.

No one was injured.

Postal investigators and Atlanta police are looking for two black men in a Ford Escort connected to the robbery which occurred between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The robbers grabbed postal property but it's unclear what exactly they took, said Yulanda Burns, a spokeswoman with the U.S Postal Inspector.

Anyone with info is urged to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404.577.TIPS(8477) with any information.

They also may call the U.S. Postal Inspector at 877.876.2455. The U.S. Postal Service is offering up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible.

This is the first robbery of a post office in an East Atlanta Patch community since the Nov. 24, 2006 hold-up of the East Atlanta branch.
