Gunman Thwarted in Bedford Pines Robbery Attempt

Victim's scream scared gunman away.

OLD FOURTH WARD — A woman's screams were enough to scare off a would-be crook who tried to rob her and another woman at gunpoint Wednesday night.

The victim told police that she and her friend were walking on Peace Avenue in the Bedford Pines section shortly after 9 p.m.

A man acame up from behind them and pointed a gun at them.

The one woman screamed and the gunman turned and ran toward Parkway Drive.

Police checked the immediate area and did not find her.

There were no injuries and no property was taken.
