Glenwood Park Woman Carjacked at Gunpoint

GLENWOOD PARK — A woman unloading items from her vehicle July 20 was carjacked at gunpoint by two men, Atlanta police said.

The victim, who was not physically injured in the incident, told police she was removing packages from the trunk of her black, 2011 Ford Explore, which was parked in a surface lot in the 900 block of Garrett Street SE.

She went to the front of the vehicle to get her purse when two men between 15 and 20 years of age accosted her just before 10:40 p.m.

One of them pointed a silver-colored semi-automatic handgun at her and told her to give him something. The victim reported she was unsure of what he said and that the gunman's accomplice kept telling him: "Shoot her, shoot her."

They got into her Explorer and sped off toward Glenwood Avenue.

The victim flagged down an off-duty Atlanta police officer who chased the vehicle on foot and while he radioed for help. The SUV was last seen headed east on Glenwood.

The carjackers are described as black with slim builds. Both were wearing ball caps. The gunman, who wore glasses, is between 6'0" and 6'3" tall. The other man was between 5'9" and 6'0" in height.
