No burglaries last week, but two women were robbed

After several weeks of home burglaries in East Atlanta Village, the East Atlanta Security Patrol reported the week-ended June 4 was burglary-free.

But two women were robbed around 1 a.m. May 29 in the Village. The two ladies reported their were in their car, engaged in a conversation when two men tried to enter their vehicle.

Neither man had a weapon but one robber punched the woman sitting in the passenger seat in the face, cutting her lip after she resisted.

The robbers — both described as being thin with dreads and ballcaps — took the womens' mobile phones and one of their wallets.

The men, both of whom were wearing ballcaps, then ran away, one of them losing his Cincinnatti cap as he fled.

One robber is described as being 5'8" tall and the other, 6'1".

The EASP also reported these other incidents which occurred last week:

  • A motorist left an area fuel station without paying for the gas after a credit card used was declined.
  • Money and a check were stolen from an apartment though it's believed to be an inside job.
  • A car break-in in the 600 block of Brownwood Avenue on the 31st at 2:15 p.m. The thief was caught with the laptop that was in the car as well as credit cards stolen from another automobile.
