East Atlanta Shooting: Artist Develops Tee Shirt to Raise Funds for Cotrona Causes

Artist's mission is to "Stop the Violence" and raise money for charity.

EAST ATLANTA — A local artist has developed a tee-shirt that calls attention violence with sale proceeds going to the charity of the family of Patrick Cotrona, the man who was shot and killed May 25 during a robbery on May Avenue.

"I was bothered by this story and made this shirt," Tim Ruiz wrote on the website he established. "All proceeds of this shirt go to the charity of Patrick's family's choice."

The tee-shirts cost $17.99, and organizers of the anti-crime efforts in East Atlanta originally aimed to sell 50. Having surpassed that goal, they are seeking to sell more to raise more funds for the family's chosen charity.
