East Atlanta Patch Crime Report

Week 13 yielded 93 reports of crime incidents.

The following police reports were filed March 24-April 4 by Zone 6 of the Atlanta Police Department and submitted to East Atlanta Patch. During this period, the zone filed 93 police reports. All information is presumed to be accurate. East Atlanta Patch is providing just a sampling of the incidents from the period in the following blotter:

Robbery:

  • March 27:
    • 280 IRWIN STREET NE: Outside/Pedestrian (snatch theft)/Physical - The female victim stated that she was walking eastbound on Irwin street towards her apartment when she was approached by a tall thin black male with a close cut hair cut standing next to a gray Toyota Prius. Hawkins stated that the suspect asked her directions to State street. When Hawkins advised she was unsure how to get there, she advised that the suspect asked her to look on her phone. Hawkins stated when she pulled out her phone the suspect grabbed the phone from her right hand, got into the Prius and drove off onto the 85 north ramp.
  • March 28:
    • 431 PARKWAY DR NE: Outside/Pedestrian/Gun - The male victim was walking from the Parkway Convenience store when the suspect vehicle approached. Two passengers in the vehicle exited and robbed the victim at gunpoint.  Suspect: #1 black male in his early 20s with a red hoodie, blue jeans, and white sneakers. Suspect vehicle was a maroon in color four door round shape vehicle with tinted windows and the trunk area was sitting low to the ground.
  • March 29:
    • 427 MORELAND AVE SE: Inside/Commercial (Wendy's)/Gun - The suspect entered the restaurant, loitered around the eating area and bathroom, and then entered a door to the work area.  He pulled a gun and ordered the cashiers to the ground.  The employees panicked and ran out of a side door and back door to the restaurant. The suspect ran out the back door without taking anything. Suspect: black male wearing a gray sweatshirt with the words NIKE on the left chest side and dark colored sleeves.

  • March 24:
    • 271 GLEN IRIS DR NE: Inside/Domestic/Knife - Victim made the statement that he told the Arrestee that he told him to leave the residence. The arrestee refused and pulled out a knife. Victim stated that the arrestee approached him and placed the knife against his neck while saying "Bitch, I'll kill you". He pushed the arrrestee away and arrestee slashed his hand with the knife. Arrestee: HENDERSON, WILLIE JAMES.
  • March 26:
    • IRWIN ST NE/HOGUE ST NE: Outside/Acquaintance/Other Weapon - The juvenile female reported that the suspect threw rocks at her as she walked home from school.
  • March 27:
    • 356 BOULEVARD NE: Outside/Domestic/Gun: Victim advised the following: she was at the location to make a custody swap with her child's father. When he arrived on scene they began to argue about money in regards to their child's health. His girlfriend, "Pumpkin," then arrived on scene and began to argue as well. At this point the man pulled a black pistol out of his waistband, held it in front of him and stated, "Y'all ain't going to jump her." He then put the firearm back in his waistband and grabbed her hair and struck her in the head. The incident was interrupted by passersby which caused him to flee the scene.
    • 657 BOULEVARD: Outside/Unk Relationship/Physical - The male victim advised that the arrested male, along with two other males, beat him up and used anti-gay slurs. Arrestee: NEWSOME, TIMOTHY
  • March 30:
    • 141 HILLIARD ST SE: Outside/Domestic/Physical - The female victim reported that her child's father became angry that her other child's father was at her residence.  The suspect slammed the victim's head into a car and then fled.
