East Atlanta Murder Suspect Arrested

Isaac McCollough charged with armed robbery and felony murder in connection with the shooting death of Henry Omar Reeves last May.

Atlanta police have a arrested a man and formally charged him with armed robbery and felony murder in connection with the shooting death of Henry Omar Reeves last May in East Atlanta.

According to Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Kim Jones, Isaac Antonio McCollough was taken into custody and booked into the DeKalb County jail on Friday.

McCollough, 26, is charged in the death of the 27-year-old Reeves, a Grady High School graduate who was gunned down on May 18, 2013 in the 1200 block of Metropolitan Avenue SE.

His death was one of a several murders last year that rattled the East Atlanta community. 

A week after Reeves was killed, Patrick Cotrona, a May Avenue homeowner, was shot and killed on his street as he and two friends walked to the Village.

Investigators said last year they thought the Reeves shooting was not a random crime and that he and his killer had some issue that led to it.

His mother told The Atlanta Journal-Contsitution on Friday that investigators believe her son was a robbery target as he was making his way to his family's home.
