The DeKalb County Police Department’s Narcotics Unit took time to display the spoils of its 2013 anti-drug campaign on Friday.

The department’s specialized 30-person unit made 989 arrests last year in connection with drug investigations.

The result of those investigative efforts included the recovery of drugs with an approximate street value of more than $128 million. The drugs included 302 kilograms of meth, 565 kilograms of powder cocaine, 6,000 pounds of marijuana, and crack cocaine.

Narcotics detectives also confiscated $3.4 million in cash, and weapons and vehicles specially designed to conceal illegal drugs.

“We in no way are concluding that we have won this war, but we are in this fight, we’re going to stay in this fight and do everything we can in this county to keep this county safe,” said Public Safety Deputy Chief Operating Officer Cedric Alexander.
