Recent APD Zone 6 Crime Statistics

These are the most recent crime statistics in APD Zone 6, which includes Grant Park, East Lake, Kirkwood, Old Fourth Ward, Candler Park and Inman Park, among others. Zone 6 also includes portions of Virginia-Highland—Druid Hills Patch.

These crime stats are for Week No. 34; Aug. 18-24, 2013.

• There were 9 Robberies with one resulting in an arrest.
• Robberies are up 29% for the 7-Day, down 23% for the 28-Day and up 25% YTD.
• There were 8 Pedestrian, and only one Residential Robbery.
• Of the 9 there were 4 that involved firearms being used.

• There were 3 Aggravated Assaults with one resulting in arrests of 2 individuals.
• Aggravated Assaults are down 84% for the 7-Day, down 25% for the 28-Day and down 27% YTD.
• This week included 2 incidents were the victims’ were stabbed.

• There were 17 Burglaries with 12 being Residential and 5 being Commercial.
• Burglaries are up 21% for the 7-Day, down 45% for the 28-Day and up 62% YTD.

• There were 52 Larceny from Vehicles.
• Larceny from Vehicles are up 30% for the 7-Day, up 26% for the 28-Day and up 5% YTD.
• There were 30 incidents involving electronics being taken, and only 2 that involved firearms taken.
• The majority of the incidents occurred in a parking lot.

• There were 14 Other Larcenies.
• Other Larcenies are down 60% for the 7-Day, down 50% for the 28-Day and down 16% YTD.
• There were 4 shoplifting incidents, with 2 resulting in arrests.

• There were 26 Auto Thefts with one resulting in arrests of 2 individuals.
• Auto Thefts are up 53% for the 7-Day, down 1% for the 28-Day and up 21% YTD.
