Declined Credit Card Sparks Tasing Incident at Graveyard Tavern

A sampling of Zone 6's Week 9 police incidents includes more pedestrian robberies, and even a case of 12 suspects jumping out of 3 cars with multiple guns pointed at individuals.

The following police reports were filed March 3-9 by Zone 6 of the Atlanta Police Department and submitted to East Atlanta Patch. During this period, the zone filed 89 police reports. All information is presumed to be accurate. East Atlanta Patch is providing just a sampling of the incidents from this week in the following blotter.

Armed Robbery - 28 HILLARD ST SE - STRANGER/ GUN /NO INJURY - Victims stated that they were walking North on Hillard when the suspect a short male (5’’5” height), approx. 19 years old wearing green jeans, and a black jacket brandishing a black handgun. Pointed it at them and stated “give me your wallets and phones”. They advised that they complied and after the suspects gathered the items (2-Apple I-phone 4S, $75 cash, GA DL, Social security card, and debit card) they headed south on Hillard. One of the victims’ tracked their cell phone to the area of 1572 Hardee St NE. The victims advised the suspects seemed very nervous.

Armed Robbery - 1675 MEMORIAL DR - STRANGER/ GUN/ NO INJURY - Victims stated they were at the location to switch drivers during which time they were approached by 3 vehicles a black Chevy, a silver Buick, and the third vehicle they were unable to identify that pulled up on both sides of them and one in front of them. Victims stated the vehicles had about 12 male suspects inside and they all jumped out with blue and red bandanas over their mouths. There were about 4 males at each door they opened the doors pointed hand guns at them and told the victims to give them all of their belongings (2-GA DL, money from wallet, 2-Apple I-phone 4S, Google Nexxsus Android, Michael Kohrs clutch purse, and a Hookah inside a case) , which they did. The males then drove off. The victims stated they followed two of the vehicles to the Capital Rd. exit where the suspect exited the highway.

Aggravated Assault - 1245 GLENWOOD AVE SE - STRANGER/TASER
The arrested male used a taser and tased staff of the Graveyard Tavern after his credit card was declined and he was told to leave. Arrestee: James Williams III, 64 years old

Residential Robbery - 917 CONFEDERATE AVE SE 
Resident's rear door kicked-in. Items taken include necklaces, 2008 MacBook laptop, 2012 MacBook air laptop, and a checkbook. The victim advised that the suspect opened her front blinds and turned on her television.

Larceny from Vehicle - 747 KIRKWOOD AVE SE
While on patrol an unknown male was observed standing in the middle of street talking on his cell phone, by officers. About 6 minutes later the arrestee was witnessed getting out of the driver seat of a Mercedes Benz. When asked “whose vehicle” he stated “his folks”, at which point they both were detained. The car was not their "folks."  The victim advised he did not know the subjects. Arrestee: Jeffery Taylor, age 21 and a Juvenile age 16. 2-ARREST MADE

Other Larcenies - 464 MORELAND AVE NE - SHOPLIFTING
JUNKMAN’S DAUGHTER - Reporting party stated he witnessed the arrestee conceal $43.96 in (6) miscellaneous items before attempting to exit before bypassing all points of sale. Arrestee: Emily Noelle Watkins, age 18. ARREST MADE

Auto Theft - EUCLID AVE/WASHITA AVE 
Taken from city street. Stolen Vehicle: Black 2006 Nissan 350; RECOVERED Victim advised he had GPS tracking on his vehicle. The Arrestees were observed in possession of the stolen vehicle. They stated the victim gave them permission to use the vehicle in exchange for a girl at a motel. The arrestee: Mosley was in possession of the vehicle keys. 2-ARREST MADE

Auto Theft - 35 WYMAN ST SE
Taken from a residence. Stolen Vehicle: Red, Honda 450XD Dirt Bike, 2005; Victim stated he placed an ad on Craigslist and received two inquiries. He advised that he provided his home address to these callers.
