Crafty Kid Steals Good Samaritan's iPhone

Kid gives sob story about being lost and desire to call mom.

A Reynoldstown woman's act of kindness was rewarded with a stolen iPhone following a ruse by a pre-teen who played on her sympathies.

The victim, who issued a warning to Reynoldstown and Inman Park residents regarding the incident, said she was one her way home from the Inman Park/Reynoldstown MARTA station when a little boy, about 11 years old, began a sob story about being lost.

He told her he was looking for the Edgewood/Candler Park station and wanted to call his mother.

She dialed a number that he gave her, handed him her iPhone 4 and he took off running toward Moreland Avenue.

Isn't Find My iPhone a free app? While it's not fool proof, there's no excuse for not taking advantage of it.
