UPDATED: Councilwoman Carla Smith's Car Stolen From Driveway Found in Social Circle

UPDATE: Councilwoman Carla Smith received good news Thursday from police who found her car in a Social Circle.  According to Jason Genung of Ormewood Park, he's "not sure what shape it's in yet, just that it apparently needs a tow truck." Hopefully neighbors in Woodland Hills will see the gold Taurus back in the neighborhood soon.  Social Circle, Ga. is located just east of Covington and Conyers.

WOODLAND HILLS — Atlanta police are looking for at least two people wanted in connection with the theft of a car belonging to Atlanta City Councilwoman Carla Smith Tuesday morning from the driveway of her Woodland Avenue home.

Smith told police she was doing chores around the house when she heard a vehicle start-up.

A few moments later, she went to check on her 1996 gold Ford Taurus and found it missing from the driveway of the home in the 1000 block of Woodland Avenue.

A witness said he saw a woman standing behind Smith's car and another person was in the car. The woman is described as black, 5'7" tall, between 230 and 240 pounds. She was wearing a pink shirt. The witness was unable to get a description of the woman's accomplice.

The car thieves were last seen heading north on Woodland.

The car, which Smith told East Atlanta Patch she has owned for a long time, has the license plate number: PMB8487.  "I really want it back, I've owned it forever and take good care of it," Smith said.
