Eight units damaged at Paradise East Apartments in Gresham Park

A 7-year-old boy playing with a lighter in his apartment, led to a fire that set eight units ablaze of a Bouldercrest Road apartment complex in Gresham Park on Tuesday.

The little boy set a sofa on fire in the Paradise East Apartments at 1504 Bouldercrest Road, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Six people were treated for smoke inhalation-related injuries.

The complex is managed by Atlanta-based H.J. Russell & Co.

H. Eric Hilton, the company's senior vice president and general counsel, said he did not have an immediate timetable for when the damaged units would be repaired.
