Carjacker Drives Pick-Up Truck into Woodland Hills Home

Responding officer injured; Atlanta police searching for carjacking suspect.

WOODLAND HILLS — Atlanta police are looking for a suspected carjacker of a red pick-up truck that struck a Woodland Avenue home in the early morning hours of Jan. 2.

The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Woodland near Vickers Street.

A responding Atlanta police officer was injured when he fell into a creek, Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones told East Atlanta Patch.

That officer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Jones said.

The incident "was a result of a carjacking," Jones said, adding the suspect remains at large.

The homeowner told WSB-TV that the vehicle, which knocked out a column, in front of the home, struck the house near where his toddler slept.
