Atlanta Police Searching For Man In Attempted Knife Attack

Suspect escaped to Inman Park

Atlanta police are still searching for a man wanted in an attempted armed robbery in Little Five Points earlier this afternoon.

The man, who is described as black, 5'6", wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and a gray hat, attempted the robbery with a knife.

In a warning issued to Inman Park residents on the neighborhood's listserv, residents were told the would-be robber was last seen running down Washita Avenue NE toward North Highland Avenue.

Police set up a perimeter but as of 3:45 p.m. he had not yet been found, John Chafee, an APD spokesman, said.

Anyone who sees him is urged to call 911 immediately.
