Armed Weekend Holdup in East Atlanta

Victim was robbed by three men on Gresham Avenue.

Atlanta police reported Monday that a man was robbed Dec. 23, in the 700 block of Gresham Avenue in East Atlanta.

The victim told police he was walking south on Gresham at about 10:30 p.m — just past the Ormewood Avenue intersection — when he heard someone running up behind him.

A man who came up behind him told him to take off his bag and to get on the ground.

The robber took the bag, which had miscellaneous clothing and toiletries, the victim's shoes and the $6 he had in his pocket.

The victim said he saw a black revolver, possibly a .357 magnum used in the holdup.

In all, he said three men were involved in the armed robbery.

He described his attackers as being black and between 17 and 19 years of age:

  • First assailant: Last seen wearing an orange and black Adidas track suit.
  • Second assailant: Last seen wearing a black and red hat, a red sweatshirt and blue jeans.
  • Third assailant: Last seen wearing a black hat a dark colored sweatshirt and blue jeans.
