APD Seeks Public's Help In Nabbing Ormewood Park Armed Robbery Suspect

Two were robbed on Ormewood Avenue

Atlanta police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man suspected in the armed robbery of two teens in Ormewood Park, May 11.

The victims — a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman — were robbed at 10:25 p.m. in the 900 block of Ormewood Avenue SE, just west of the Palatine Avenue SE intersection.

The victims said they were walking down Ormewood Avenue, when a man in a long-sleeved red t-shirt, blue jeans and a red baseball cap ran up behind them with a silver or gray, semi-automatic handgun.

The robber, whom the victims said had black dreadlocks with possible blond tips at the end of his hair, threatened to shoot the man in the leg if they didn't give their wallets and mobile phones.

At that moment, an old, dark-colored vehicle drove up, the robber hopped in and escaped. The victims were unable to read the vehicle's license tag but said they believed it to be a Ford Crown Victoria.
