APD Makes Arrest in Benteen Citgo Shooting

Video surveillance shows shooter firing gun

Atlanta Police have made an arrest in the shooting of a Citgo  gas station customer in Atlanta's Benteen neighborhood.

"We have made an arrest in this case," Atlanta Police Department spokesman Curtis Davenport said. "Unfortunately, the defendant is a juvenile so we won’t be releasing his identification."

The juvenile is charged with aggravated assault, Davenport said.

The victim was shot in the abdomen at the gas station at 1362 Boulevard around 3:20 a.m.

Witnesses told police they heard two to three shots being fired near the front door of the convenience store.

The shooting was captured on a video surveillance camera.

The victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
