APD Appoints New Zone 6 Assistant Commander

According to Zone 6 crime data, crime during the first month of the new year is down in all major categories.

The Atlanta Police Department announced new promotions on Thursday, including a change to the command staff of Zone 6, which includes portions of East Atlanta Patch and Virginia Highland-Druid Hills Patch.

Major James B. Shaw, who was previously assistant commander in Zone 6, is now the new commander over the Code Enforcement Section.

Captain Bennie McGee is the new assistant commander in Zone 6.

According to Zone 6 crime data, crime during the first month of the new year is down in all major categories, including robberies, which have decreased by 63 percent.
