John Bradford, Retired Fire Chief and Councilman Mourned

U.S. Army veteran served 24 years with the City of Atlanta Fire Department, and later was elected to the Chamblee City Council.

Public service was a major part of John Bradford’s life. He served in Korea and Vietnam, in the U.S. Army. He was a Battalion Chief with the City of Atlanta Fire Department, where he spent 24 years in service. Afterwards Bradford was elected to Chamblee City Council.

Bradford passed away unexpected, last Sunday, according to an obituary at SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society. He was 78.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pearl; two children and several grandchildren. 

The family will receive guests from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Saturday, followed by a 1 p.m., memorial service, at SouthCare, 2260 Old Milton Highway, in Alpharetta.
