Martha Brown Church Opening Temporary Freeze Shelter for Homeless
The church, located at 468 Moreland Ave. SE. will offer shelter from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Martha Brown United Methodist Church will open up its doors for the next three nights as a Temporary Freeze Shelter for those seeking refuge from the cold temperatures which are expected to plunge into the 20s this week.
The church, located at 468 Moreland Ave. SE. will offer shelter from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Those staying the night will need to arrive by 9 p.m. The church also will provide dinner and breakfast to those who stay.
The church also needs donations of some of the following items:
- blankets
- sleeping mats
- coffee
- toilet paper
- coats, hats, gloves and scarves
