A dusting of frost. Cold, cold mornings. Black Friday.
We survived them all. Now it’s
time to turn our thoughts to creative gift giving. For a great selection of one-of-a-kind gifts, Cabbagetown
Clay and Glass Works (CCGW), a non-profit artists’ cooperative, invites you to
their 12th Annual Holiday
Sale. Friday night, December 6, is the gallery’s Holiday Opening Night, from
5 pm until 10 pm. You can enjoy
refreshments and beverages while shopping and visiting with artist members. The gallery features fused glass , thrown and
hand-built ceramic art, including Christmas ornaments, functional pieces, and
sculptures.
As an added bonus on
Opening Night, there will be a raffle of a special CCGW gnome, painted by Heather Colbaugh. You can purchase a raffle ticket or make a
purchase over $10 from any artist in the studio. The drawing of the winning ticket will be
Friday night at 9:00 pm. You do not have
to be present to win. Another way to
participate is to send a Paypal donation of $5 or more per ticket to ccgworks@gmail.com.
The Cabbagetown Clay and
Glass Works gallery, located at 588 Woodward Avenue SE, 30316, will continue
to be open each weekend until Christmas from 9 am to 3 pm. An artist-run cooperative, CCGW was founded in 2002 and provides affordable
studio space for ceramic and glass artists.
It also presents classes for the general public, free workshops to local
transitional housing programs for women and veterans, and showcases the work of
artists in their gallery.
