Stargazing at Arabia Mountain

Get ready to enjoy the night sky like you never have before – and learn how it can impact your planting! Gather around a campfire to discuss basic orientation and how to read a planisphere (rotating star chart) as the sun goes down. Get started right away identifying easy-to-find constellations – even in the city! (In fact – city stargazing is one of the easiest ways to start since only the brightest stars are visible…)

Discover the progression of the stars, sun, moon and planets through the night and seasons, and begin to understand the relationship between signs and planting as they pertain to the Biodynamic planting calendar.

We’ll be taking a small hike in the dark, so wear sturdy shoes and bring a flashlight with a red filter (or make your own out of plastic wrap, tissue paper, balloons, nail polish etc.). Additionally, class cost includes your very own rotating planisphere to help you navigate the night sky for years to come.

About the Instructor: Suzanne Welander became captivated by the map of the night sky when she started working with Biodynamics and the Biodynamic planting calendar in 1994. It wasn’t long before she found a familiar connection with the constellations, one that led her to certification as a shamanic astrologer.
