NATE MASK

“I was first introduced to poetry by hip-hop music, although I didn’t
realize it yet. I always loved the way words could be bent and
manipulated.
…. I loved the feeling of not only sharing my work,
but venting my stresses to a room full of strangers; it was therapeutic.
I also heard several incredible, inspiring poets that night, and I was
hooked. I’ve been almost every Sunday since.
From then on, poetry
has helped me deal with any roadblock I have encountered, helped me look
at things in different ways, and has improved me as a human. I have
been exposed to countless poets who have inspired me and helped me grow
as a writer. I have also become a part of an amazing artistic community
in the Atlanta area, and I am incredibly grateful. Poetry saved my
life.”

Poetry Workshop:

“We will be writing stream of consciousness through prompts, rhyme, and
singular image focus, and then maliciously attacking the useless
phrases and less vital lines in our new poems. Bring your heart and your
hacksaw; we’re going to be writing like we mean it.”
