Peace Love and Watrmelon

Candler Park’s” Peace Love and Watermelon” is
August 10th.  This event is essentially
pre- movie festivities. From 5p.m. to 8p.m. (or while supplies last) we are
offering FREE ICE COLD WATERMELON! The CPNO has agreed to pay for it and the
Clifton men will be slicing it up for ya. At 7p.m. we will have a seed spitting
contest for the kids-there will be prizes! Also, our friend Captain Planet will
be on hand. However, his nemesis the plastic trash bag monster will probably
show up. (This is usually kind of awkward.) Also we will get a visit from the
National Watermelon Queen. (Yes there really is one.) She is selected annually
to promote awareness of the nutritional benefits as well as the economic value
of watermelon.  Uncle Maddios, the
official pizza of Candler Park Movie Night will be there, too. Epworth will
also be giving out FREE Popcorn just before movie time. Then shortly after 8p.m
(when it gets dark enough) we will be showing the movie” The Lorax”.

In the event of a rainy day, please check
www.friendsofCandlerPark.org.  Rain days
are typically scheduled the following weekend. You will want to get there early
for the best spot! Once again, well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Bring
your own coolers. The Candler Park Movie Night is produced by Park
Pride/Friends of Candler Park. Also, with help from Epworth Methodist/ Clifton
House.  Thanks to our sponsors Front Page
News, Tijuana Garage, Candler Park Market, our official pizza, Uncle Maddio’s. And
a huge thank you to our presenting sponsor, the Candler Park Neighborhood
Organization.
