Candler Park Voting Snafu Continues

'Our theory about what is going wrong with the ballots is that one specific precinct has the wrong ballots.'

CANDLER PARK — Tuesday morning, some voters going to the Epworth Church at Candler Park to cast their ballots for school board were given ballots for the wrong contest.

Fulton County elections officials have been investigating to find the cause of the problem and advise voters to contact a poll worker if they encounter an issue.

Kate Sandhaus, communications liaison for the Candler Park Neighborhood Organization, has been fielding e-mails all day from concerned residents.

She sent this update and a possible explanation for the snafu:

Our theory about what is going wrong with the ballots is that one specific precinct has the wrong ballots. There are three precincts voting at Epworth polling location today — see the attached map Precinct 02H — Candler Park residents who normally vote at Mary Lin but who are voting at Epworth this election due to the Mary Lin construction project Precinct 02I - Candler Park residents who normally vote at Epworth Precinct 05P - Lake Claire residents who normally vote at Epworth We believe that voters in precincts 02H and 05P are getting the correct ballots, and that those in precinct 02I have been given the incorrect ballots (and are now being told to vote with provisional ballots). If anyone's experience differs from our theory above, please let me know asap. And once again, if you have not yet voted, please go vote. If you voted with the wrong ballot, go back and demand a provisional ballot.
