Storm Downs Tree On Bouldercrest Drive

Police, fire officials say they're busy with calls

This fallen tree on Boudercrest Drive, just south of Mary Lou Lane in southeast Atlanta made driving impossible, Thursday evening. MARTA buses, passenger cars and semis had to double back north on Bouldercrest while crews worked to remove the tree.

Kim Jones, a spokeswoman with the Atlanta Police Department, said there were several calls of trees and power lines down throughout the city.

At least two people were killed in the 3800 block of Paces Ferry Road when a tree fell on their vehicle.

Trees fell on several homes throughout the city but residents managed to get out safely, she said.
