MARTA Modifies Several Bus Routes

Service changes to go into effect June 18

MARTA said it is incorporating several changes to its bus lines, moves the transit agency says will improve service. The changes are slated to take effect June 18.

Here are the ones in East Atlanta Patch:

No. 2 – Ponce de Leon Avenue/Moreland Avenue

  • Service will be realigned to provide alternating trips along current routing from North Avenue Station to Edgewood/Candler Park Station and from North Avenue Station to Decatur Station via North Avenue, Boulevard, Ponce De Leon Avenue, W. Ponce De Leon Avenue, Commerce Drive and Swanton Way. The changes affect service seven days a week.

No. 49 - McDonough Boulevard

  • The outbound end point will be relocated to Moreland Drive at McDonough Boulevard instead of the current location on Moreland Drive at Woodland Avenue on all service days. Some departure times will be revised to reflect the new location. The changes affect service seven days a week.

No. 99 - Boulevard/Monroe

  • The service will be realigned to operate from GA State Station to North Avenue Station via North Avenue during midday, evenings and nights on weekdays only. No service will be provided along Monroe Drive between North Avenue and 10th Street during midday, evenings and nights on weekdays only. Route 99 will maintain current routing between GA State Station and Midtown Station during weekday peak periods, Saturdays and Sundays. Changes affect service weekdays only.
