When/Where: Thursday evening from 5:00pm to 7:15pm at the Speakers Auditorium, 44 Courtland Street, Atlanta, 30303.
Why Go: This advance screening of the PBS documentary, Freedom Riders, will be followed by a discussion with two civil rights activists/Freedom Riders who in 1961, took a stand to challenge segregation in the south. This thought provoking evening, for you and your teens and tweens, is designed to show that students can make a difference and asks the question, “Could you get on the bus?”
Pricing: Free.

When/Where:  Race day registration begins at 7:00am in near the entrance to Zoo Atlanta and the Cyclorama Civil War Museum. The 5K begins at 8:00am and the Kids Fun Run begins at 9:00am.
Why Go:  A terrific introduction to running and part of the Publix Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon weekend, children participating in the Fun Run will be grouped by age.  Those groups will run distances ranging from .1 to .75 miles.  All participants will receive an official race t-shirt and medal.  As well as the races, activities will include arts, crafts and balloon artists.  
Pricing:  The 5K entry fee is $25.00 through the Expo (Friday at the Georgia Dome) and $30.00 on race day.  The Kids Fun Run entry fee is $20.00 through the Expo and $25 on race day.

When/Where: Saturday at 10:00am, this event is presented by as part of the Phoenix Flies Citywide Celebration of Living Landmarks.  The location of the Box City event will be given to you when you confirm your reservation.
Why Go: Your children, ages 6-13 years old, will learn the basics of architecture and urban planning as they create, plan and build their own city.  Call to reserve your space as the event is limited to 20 accompanied children.
Pricing: Free.

When/Where: Saturday at the Alliance Theatre/Woodruff Arts Center
Why Go: This weekend is your last opportunity to catch Honk!, the musical for families based on The Ugly Duckling, before it closes.  And, for one day only, when you purchase tickets for a 1:00pm or 4:00pm performance, the whole family can enjoy a family fun fair in the Woodruff Arts Center Galleria.  The event will include puppet making, a family art project, performances, a DJ, theater games, and exclusive autographs from the cast of the musical.  
Pricing: Children $25.00; Adults $35.00.  Proceeds benefit the Alliance Theatre educational programming.

When/Where: Sunday all day but Morelli’s Ice Cream opens at 12:00pm.
Why Go: It’s the first day of Spring!!  What better excuse to visit Morelli’s for your favorite treat? Grab an ice cream (Coconut Jalepeno - yum) or lunch and then head on over to Brownwood Park and playground to soak up the Spring day. You can even bring your four-legged family member - just don’t forget your leash and bags.
Pricing: Park and playground are free. $2.99 for a single scoop at Morelli’s.
