It’s festival time!  Enjoy a gorgeous weekend with these...

Family-Friendly Bets

When/Where: Saturday and Sunday in Inman Park.
Why Go: The Kidzone, located in Springvale Park just off of Euclid Ave and behind the main music tent, will include slides, obstacle courses, games and arts & crafts - but my family’s favorite part of this festival is...you guessed it, the parade!  The parade will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday (rain or shine) at the corner of Edgewood and Euclid and will proceed to Austin Avenue.
Pricing: Free admission but you'll need money for purchasing food, drink and arts and crafts.

When/Where: Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm,.
Why Go: Join Eco-Force members from local schools (including East Atlanta’s Burgess-Peterson Academy) for this 3rd Annual Earth Day Fun Festival.  Enjoy food, carnival games, inflatables, eco-vendors/educators, eco-entertainment and if you bring a recyclable item (see website for list) you’ll receive a ticket to be used for carnival games!
Pricing: Free to attend but expect to need money for food, games, etc...

When/Where: Sunday at 8:30am (before the Inman Park Festival opens for the day) in Inman Park at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Hurt Street.
Why Go: Costumes, team challenges and tethered teams (7 person caterpillars) are encouraged at this creative 5K.  In fact, there will be awards for Creative Costume, Fastest/Largest Team and  Largest/Fastest Caterpillar. Register (registration closes after 500 registrants) to support - or head out with a cup of coffee to join the fun and cheer the runners on!
Pricing: $25.00 to register.

When/Where: Sunday from 10:00am to 7:00pm in Centennial Olympic Park.
Why Go: Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at this outdoor festival featuring two stages of live music, arts and crafts, authentic Latin food, and plenty of activities for kids.  *The festival will be kicked-off at 8:00am with an inaugural stroller and pet (on leash) friendly 5 Qué Run/Walk to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Race day registration ($25.00) runs from 6:30am to 7:45am at the park.
Pricing:  Free admission to the festival but you'll need money for food, drinks, etc...

When/Where: Sunday from 4:00pm to 9:oopm at .
Why Go:  Visiting Nurse | Hospice Atlanta invites you to explore 20 steps throughout Zoo Atlanta “with surprises at every turn” while supporting their Children’s Program. If you are looking for an event where you can do lots of good while having lots of fun, this ones for you - enjoy the animals, prizes, entertainment, and a Backyard BBQ.
Pricing: $75.00 adults; $40.00 children (3 children for $100), children under 2 are free.
  *If you are planning on yard work with the family this weekend, a Plant Sale to benefit the Zoo Atlanta Horticulture Department will be held from 8:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday. Zoo admission is not required.
