From Group Intelligence to gorilla intelligence - enjoy a beautiful weekend with these family-friendly bets:

When/Where: Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in Woodruff Park at Peachtree Street and Auburn Avenue.
Why Go: Hosted by Out of Hand Theatre and sponsored by the NSF/NASA Center for Chemical Evolution, this event is described as part Flash Mob, part “experiment in the convergence of Science and Art.”  Definitely intriguing - and looks like it could be lots of fun for you and your children ages 12 years old and up.
Pricing: Free but you must register to download the track for the event to your Mp3 player - MP3 players are also available to borrow upon registration.

  • EARTH DAY CELEBRATION AT THE GEORGIA AQUARIUM

When/Where: Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the .
Why Go:  It’s a great weekend to visit the world’s largest aquarium.  Along with the ongoing exhibits, including the brand new Dolphin Tales, the Georgia Aquarium is celebrating the Earth with pledge cards to take home, special giveaways, arts and crafts stations, Little Wonder animal carts and mascot interaction.
Pricing:  Earth Day events included with general admission.  Separate ticketing for Dolphin Tales.

When/Where: Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm in East Lake Park.
Why Go:  Courtesy of the East Lake Neighbors Community Association, join your neighbors for a fun afternoon of face painting, bag decorating, egg hunting, hot dog lunching and a special appearance by the East Lake Easter Bunny.
Pricing: Free.

  • EAST ATLANTA NEIGHBORHOOD POTLUCK

When/Where: Saturday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm in .   
Why Go: Join the East Atlanta Farmers Market and the East Atlanta Community Garden for a Neighborhood Potluck to benefit the Farmers Market, the Community Garden, and the East Atlanta Kids Club and to celebrate the expansion of the community garden and a new home for the market.  There will be activities for children and for adults including music by the Front Porch Session Players.
Pricing: Water provided - bring a dish to share.  Please RSVP

When/Where: Saturday from 10:am to 4:00pm at .
Why Go: My family loves to watch the western lowland gorillas when we visit the zoo - and (if you get your spot early) this is the day to do it! The annual Gorilla Egg Hunts, where the gorillas search for hidden Jell-O treats throughout their habitats, happen at 2 p.m. in Gorilla Habitat 3 and 2:30p.m. in Gorilla Habitat 1.  Also enjoy appearances by Dora and Diego of Dora the Explorer fame, arts and crafts including the Earthworm Dig, green exhibitors, and hands on learning featuring turtles presented by Zoo Atlanta educators .
Pricing: Free for members and included with Zoo admission for non-members.
