Tuesday, May 17:

  • You say you want to know where your tax dollars are going? Here's your chance to have some input. The Atlanta City Council is holding  budget hearings for city departments and agencies from May 3 through May 18 at Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave. SW, Atlanta. This an all-day hearing but different departments have specific times:
    • Human Resources - 9:00am - 10:00am
    • Law (Closed Session) - 10:00am - 12:00pm
    • Judicial Agencies - 1:00pm - 4:00pm
    • Solicitor - 1:00pm - 2:00pm
    • Public Defender - 2:00pm - 3:00pm
    • Court Operations - 3:00pm - 4:00pm
    • Audit Department - 4:00pm - 4:45pm
  • The Grant Park Neighborhoods Association will meet at 7:30 p.m. at , 800 Cherokee Ave. SE, Atlanta. (The meetings are hels ARC Building - Coca Cola World Studio).

Wednesday, May 18:

  • The Atlanta Public Schools will host a community meeting on the Next Phase  of the 2010 Demographic Study presented by Bleakly Advisors Group, LLC, Cropper GIS, McKibben Demographics, LLC.An overview on the next phase of the process including timelines and a plan for when and how the community will be engaged. The meeting is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 130 Trinity Ave. SW.

Saturday, May 21:

  • Rep. Stacy Abrams (HD-84) is hosting a forum and give a legislative update. for a legislative update from 10 a.m. to noon. The forum will be held at Epworth United Methodist Chuch, 1561 McLendon Ave. NE. Light refreshments will be served.
  • East Atlanta Beer Festival. Come celebrate great craft beers, good food and rockin’ local music, as only East Atlanta can in , 607 Brownwood Ave. SE, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. See more information: http://www.eastatlantabeerfest.com/.
