“Erik’s Hope: The Leash That Led Me to Freedom” – Book Tells Story Of Transformation Led By Rescue Dog

Phoenix/Atlanta (Nov. 11, 2013)—From the moment she rescued Erik from a Phoenix animal shelter, Andrea Chilcote began to experience an internal shift from an over-stressed professional having little regard for matters of the heart into a passionate and caring advocate for personal change, growth and healing.

In “Erik’s Hope: The Leash That Led Me to Freedom,” the fictional account based on her life story, Chilcote shares with readers how her relationship with beloved wolf-dog Erik enabled her to find her life's purpose. His unconditional love, mischievous nature and eventual passing allowed her to focus on the present and finally enjoy life.

Erik’s life and death proves to be Andrea’s moment of truth – her biggest test of faith. The book’s themes relate to the struggles derived from grief and loss that we all face, shedding light on the meaningful lessons left to learn. During her journey, Andrea transformed from a hassled, high-potential professional to an executive life coach, leadership development mentor and inspirational author. She now assists other professionals in their life’s journey to find their greater purpose, but credits her transformation and ability to help others to her time spent with Erik.
