VersionOne, an Alpharetta-based software firm, said Friday it opened a new office in Old Fourth Ward to support its growth, be closer to Georgia Tech's talent pool and be more environmentally conscious by providing green commute alternatives for its workers.

The 6,500-square-foot space in the Ponce Springs Lofts at 620 Glen Iris Drive will operate as a satellite office and meeting center for the company's Atlanta-based employees.

"There's tremendous technical and creative talent to be found around Georgia Tech and surrounding areas. Our new Midtown [area] office will give us an advantage in attracting those candidates while reducing travel and related costs for employees who live in or near downtown Atlanta."
